Student of the Week: Kiersten Eberle

11/9/2005

Kiersten Eberle, a senior from Toledo, plans to attend Chapman University in California or Miami of Ohio to study social work. Her career goal is to become a psychologist. Latin, drama, and math are Kiersten's favorite subjects, and she has a 4.6 grade-point average.

She is co-president of the Latin Club, National Honor Society treasurer, all-academic athlete, and first chair trombone in the school band. She received cum laude on the National Latin exam and held the lead role in this year's fall play.

Kiersten is a member of the marching, jazz, pep, and honors bands, the drama club, and the cross country team. She has volunteered with the summer reading program at the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, tutored at summer band, worked as a teacher's assistant for vacation Bible school, and helps Adopt-a-Family every Christmas.

"In my 29 years of teaching Latin at Bowsher High School, I would rank Kiersten Eber as one of the top 10 students I have ever taught," said Marcia Naute, Latin teacher. "Her academic curiosity is matched by her inventive imagination. She possesses commitment and compassion for others, and she has so much fun with Latin!"

Kiersten is the daughter of Jason Foster.
