ARCHBOLD, Ohio - Voters in the Archbold Area School District will be asked to approve a 9.78-mill emergency operating levy on the May 2 ballot.
The school board last night voted unanimously to file the levy with the Fulton County Board of Elections.
If approved, the levy would raise an additional $2.4 million a year, and would cost the owner of a $100,000 owner-occupied home an extra $300 a year.
Earlier this week the school board agreed to ask the Fulton County auditor to certify figures for the proposed five-year levy. It would increase property taxes in the school district by about 22 percent.
