Eastwood seeks approval of emergency school levy

5/19/2006

PEMBERVILLE, Ohio The Eastwood Local School District yesterday voted unanimously in a special session to ask the Wood County Board of Elections to place an emergency tax issue on the Aug. 8 ballot.

The 3.92-mill levy would generate about $735,000 a year for five years.

Earlier this month voters narrowly rejected a five-year, 1 percent income tax for current operating expenses in the May primary. Officials wanted to replace a five-year, 8.9-mill operating levy that expires this year with an income tax.
