Lourdes College and Owens Community College have announced that students in four health science programs at Owens can receive a bachelor's degree simultaneously at Lourdes College.

Students pursuing associate of applied science degrees in health information technology, occupational therapy assistant, radiography, or the surgical program at Owens can apply their credit hours for those degrees to a B.A. in interdisciplinary studies from Lourdes.

"This partnership represents a pioneering model between two and four-year academic institutions and serves the health care community by creating a seamless pathway for students to achieve their educational goals," Christa Adams, president of Owens, said in a statement.

Beginning this fall, students who earn a minimum of 60 credit hours of coursework from each institution will qualify to receive both degrees.
