Stritch High named one of nation's best

Cardinal Stritch High School in Oregon has been named by the Catholic High School Honor Roll as one of the top 50 Catholic high schools in the United States.

The school is one of three Catholic high schools in Ohio to make the group's 2006 top-50 list. The other two Ohio schools are Saint Edmund Campion Academy in Cincinnati and Padua Franciscan High School in Parma, Ohio.

Toledo Bishop Leonard Blair said he was grateful Cardinal Stritch was commended for its "educational excellence."

St. Francis de Sales High School in Toledo was recognized by the group for academics.

Cardinal Stritch and Calvert High School in Tiffin were recognized by the group for Catholic identity.
