Bettsville district hires ex-Lake superintendent

6/20/2007

BETTSVILLE, Ohio Former Lake Local Schools Superintendent Paul Orshoski has been hired to lead Ohio s second smallest school district.

The Bettsville board of education voted to give Mr. Orshoski a two-year contract at a yet-undetermined salary to work as superintendent, beginning Aug. 1.

He replaces Randy Pawlowski, who is retiring July 3 after five years as superintendent and 29 years with the 230-student Seneca County district.

Mr. Orshoski, who is an assistant principal at Margaretta High School in Erie County, was superintendent at Lake from 2000 to 2006 at a time when the district was struggling to pass new operating levies.

Bettsville Treasurer Karen Botzko said the board still is searching for a replacement for David Madaras, the district s K-12 principal, who plans to retire July 31.
