Owens events remember violence against women

4/10/2008

Owens Community College students today will raise awareness about violence against women with two programs on the Perrysburg Township campus.

The Clothesline Project, a visual display representing victims of violent crime, will be in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts from 2 to 8 p.m.

The display, in collaboration with Behavioral Connections of Wood County, includes more than 200 shirts.

A T-shirt-making session will be held in advance from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 165 of the Student Health and Activities Center.

Tonight, students will host the Take Back the Night candlelight walk beginning at 8 p.m. in the arts center. The walk and awareness program include information about domestic violence and a poetry reading.
