Contracts OK d for a new Larchmont school

The Toledo Board of Education has approved contracts for the construction of a new Larchmont Elementary School.

The board hired Willson Builders Inc. as general contractor for $5.13 million; Warner Mechanical Corp. for heating and air conditioning for $1.5 million; Regent Electric Inc. for electrical work for $984,000, and Mondo Mechanical Inc. to do the plumbing for $544,000.

Other companies to be involved are Schoen Inc. to do site work for $823,000, Doan/Pyramid to do the technology for $620,995, and S.A. Comunale Co. Inc. to do the fire protection work for $126,490.

The new Larchmont, which will cost about $9.7 million, is being built on the site of the existing Larchmont at 1515 Slater.

It is expected to be ready for the school s 500 students in kindergarten through grade 8 by Aug. 10, 2009.
