Power, water services being restored at UT

5/7/2008

All buildings on the University of Toledo s main campus affected yesterday by an eight-inch water-main break late Monday were expected to be open for business today, a UT spokesman said.

The flooding damaged electrical equipment in the basement of Stranahan Hall, which houses the college of business administration, resulting in a power outage on the north side of the campus, Matt Lockwood, the spokesman, said.

Water service to the north side of campus was restored by about 11 a.m., by which time regular power service returned to most of the affected buildings except Stranahan, Gillham Hall, and the Ritter Planetarium, Mr. Lockwood said.

Disaster clean-up crews were at work since early yesterday. A damage assessment was not available last night.
