Fostoria school voters may see bond issue, levy

FOSTORIA Fostoria City School District voters may be asked in November to approve a 0.5-mill maintenance levy and a bond issue to pay the district s share of a $40.53 million building project.

The school board on Monday agreed to participate in the Ohio Classroom Facilities Assistance Program, which would allow it to build an elementary school and renovate the middle and high schools.

The state would pay roughly half of the project cost.

The new elementary, which would be built on land owned by the district adjacent to the middle and high schools, would accommodate prekindergarten through fourth grade.

Under the proposal, Longfellow, Riley, and Field elementary schools would be demolished.
