Anthony Wayne schools to seek levy request in November

The Anthony Wayne Board of Education has decided to return to the polls with a request for operating funds, less than a week after a 3.3-mill levy was rejected.

On Nov. 4, voters in the school district will decide on a 0.5 percent tax on earned income that would go into effect Jan. 1 and extend for five years.

The tax is expected to raise $3 million annually, according to Treasurer Kerri Johnson.
