A Northwood Board of Education member announced his resignation Monday.
Michael Melnyk tendered his resignation, effective immediately, in a letter dated Aug. 1 and announced it during a board meeting. His term would have expired in December, 2009.
Superintendent of Schools Gregory Clark said the district has advertised for successors and may meet Aug. 25 to discuss candidates. A selection will be made within five days of the meeting, Mr. Clark said.
Mr. Melnyk had been on the board about 6 years. He provided a great deal of insight to me, and I appreciate his service very much, Mr. Clark said.
Mr. Melnyk could not be reached for comment.
