UT professor, businessman named chair at Lourdes

A Toledo-area businessman known for his handcrafted wood furniture has been named chairman of business and leadership studies at Lourdes College.

Dean Ludwig, who previously spent 10 years as a business professor at the University of Toledo, began his duties Monday. During his time at UT, Mr. Ludwig was director of the business honors program and helped found the UT Center for Family Business.

About a dozen years ago, Mr. Ludwig changed his career path and made a lifelong hobby into a business with Dean Ludwig Furnituremaker. His detailed wood furniture products include rocking chairs, tables, altars, lecterns, and more.

He has a bachelor s degree in English and philosophy from the University of Detroit and an MBA and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.
