University of Findlay adds Oxley as trustee

10/28/2009

FINDLAY - Former Republican Congressman Michael Oxley has been elected to the board of trustees at the University of Findlay.

A Findlay native, Mr. Oxley represented the 4th Congressional District for 25 years before retiring in 2007. He now works at the Baker Hostetler law firm in Washington, representing clients in corporate governance, investigations, and government policy. He also is a senior adviser to the board of directors of NASDAQ OMX Group Inc.

Mr. Oxley's father, Garver Oxley, graduated from the former Findlay College in 1941, but the former congressman did not attend the University of Findlay. He received a bachelor's degree from Miami University and a law degree from Ohio State University.
