Terra raising tuition 3 % for fall classes

FREMONT — Tuition at Terra Community College is to increase 3 percent next fall.

Citing the need to hire new faculty and add services in light of recent enrollment increases, trustees voted Wednesday night to raise tuition from $123.84 per credit hour to $128.17 per credit hour. That amounts to an average annual increase of $130 for a full-time student.

“This is certainly not a move we make lightly, but we don’t feel we have much choice,” Board Chairman Susan Starr said in a news release. “Even with this increase, we are confident that we will still be among the lowest priced collegiate options in northwest Ohio.”

Fall registration starts Monday.
