Investigated teacher leaves Tiffin school

FREMONT — An instructor at Sentinel Career Center in Tiffin who was under investigation for possible criminal misconduct with a student has resigned and said he will surrender his teaching license.

The Fremont-based Vanguard-Sentinel Career Center school board Monday accepted the resignation of Ken Schock, an instructor in the public safety services program.

School officials contacted the Seneca County Sheriff's Office about the unspecified allegation Friday. Sheriff Jeff Briggs said he asked the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation to handle the matter, in part because Mr. Schock is a volunteer reserve deputy for the sheriff's office. He has been placed on administrative leave, the sheriff said.
