A pioneer in the field of high-speed technical and scientific photography will give a free lecture and two workshops at Owens Community College Saturday.

Andrew Davidhazy, whose popular images include stop-action photos of sneezing, bullets going through playing cards, and balloons popping, is a professor of imaging and photographic technology at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y.

Mr. Davidhazy will speak at 11 a.m., then hold a 1:30 p.m. workshop on "The Basics of Slit-scan and Strip Cameras and Applications" followed by a 4 p.m. workshop on "Simplified Approaches to High Speed and Stroboscopic Photography."

All three events, which are free and open to the public, will be in Room 233 of the Center for Fine and Performing Arts. Mr. Davidhazy's visit is sponsored by the Owens Photo Club student organization.
