Rossford hires retired principal for Glenwood

A retired Sylvania school administrator has taken over as interim principal at Glenwood Elementary School in Rossford.

Bill Shunk of Sylvania started the job as Glenwood’s interim principal Monday and is being paid $350 a day. The Rossford Board of Education approved Mr. Shunk’s appointment Tuesday for the remainder of the school year.

He is replacing William H. Buzzell, 45, of Perrysburg, who has been arraigned on charges he downloaded and shared child pornography from his home computer. Mr. Buzzell, who pleaded not guilty to three counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor and one count of possessing criminal tools, was placed on indefinite paid leave.

Mr. Shunk was assistant superintendent of Sylvania schools until his 2008 retirement. He previously held positions in the Sylvania, Lake Local, and Washington Local school districts.
