Two East Broadway Middle School students caught last week with a “kill list” of teachers and fellow students have been removed from the school, Toledo Public Schools officials said.

A teacher found the two girls with the list April 11, Jim Gault interim chief academic officer, said. Titled “kill list,” named 10 students and teachers.

Mr. Gault was not sure whether the girls were suspended or expelled. School officials filed a police report on the incident.

A teacher discovered the list during class and asked the girls to turn it over. When they refused, the teacher confiscated the note, sent the students to the dean’s office, and informed the dean of its contents, Mr. Gault said.

District officials do not believe the students had any intention of acting on the threat. Those whose names were on the list were notified by school officials, as were their parents, Mr. Gault said.
