Tuition at Owens Community College would increase by no more than $100 a semester if the board of trustees adopts a recommendation from its finance committee.

A $100 increase would amount to slightly more than 5 percent for a full-time student carrying 15 credit hours, said John Satkowski, executive vice president and chief financial officer.

If the state’s biennial budget starting next year requires a lower maximum increase, the college would be bound by that cap, Mr. Satkowski said. Any increase, which would go into effect July 1, is subject to approval of the full board.
