BOWLING GREEN — In line with other universities across Ohio, Bowling Green State University will raise undergraduate tuition by 3.5 percent for the fall.

The board of trustees approved the increase Friday morning. It will amount to a $168 increase per semester, bringing the total cost of tuition and fees for undergraduates to $10,044 per year.

Included in that is a $60-a-semester facility fee students will begin paying this fall to help finance the new Stroh Center. In a campus-wide referendum in 2009, BGSU students voted to pay the fee for 30 years.

Tuition will not increase for graduate students or students from out of state.

Revenue anticipated from the undergraduate tuition increase as well as an expected increase of 350 additional undergraduates and 50 more transfer students was included in the $285.7 million educational and general budget approved Friday by trustees for BGSU’s main campus.
