BELLEVUE, Ohio — Wages will be frozen for teachers and nonteaching staff as well as administrators in the Bellevue City Schools system next school year. Step increases for teachers also are frozen.

The school board this week approved one-year contracts with the Bellevue Education Association, which represents 146 teachers, and Local 612 of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees.

The latter unit represents 80 nonteaching employees.

The new contract, as well as a freeze on administrators’ wages, is expected to save the district more than $361,000.
