Lake Local Schools has kicked off its educational campaign for the upcoming Aug. 2 levy, the first request for new money from voters since 2006.
The school district is asking for residents to approve a continuing 4.75-mill levy for operating expenses, which would raise more than $1.1 million a year. If passed, the owner of a $100,000 house would pay $145 a year.
Board members, who promoted the levy at a news conference Thursday, approved putting a levy on the Aug. 2 ballot in April.
