School renames self Mercy College of Ohio

To reflect growth in distance education programs offered online, Mercy College of Northwest Ohio Monday changed its name to Mercy College of Ohio.

Mercy College has campuses in Toledo and Youngstown. Online classes have made the college a viable option for students outside northwest Ohio, President John Hayward said in a news release.

Mercy College is sponsored by Mercy and Catholic Health Partners, the Toledo-based health-care provider’s parent.
