GRAND RAPIDS, Ohio --- Nobody was injured after a school bus became stuck Thursday morning at the edge of the Maumee River, Otsego Local Schools Superintendent Jim Garber said.

Early in its morning run near Weirs Rapids, Bus #20 was traveling around a turnabout when the back of the vehicle went off the road and “floated for a moment, before becoming stuck,” according to the superintendent.

The driver and the lone student on board left safely, and emergency crews came to the scene.

Flooding has hit the Grand Rapids area following Tuesday’s heavy rains, which makes 2011 the seventh wettest year recorded in Toledo’s history.
