On the third try, voters in Woodmore Local Schools approved a 37-year, $15.7 million bond issue aimed at replacing the district’s aging elementary school in Woodville.

The bond issue will be coupled with $7 million from the Ohio School Facilities Commission to build a replacement school in Woodville, which also will house the middle school. The bond issue will cost the owner of a $100,000 house $166.29 a year.

Renovations to Woodmore Elementary in Woodville, which was built in 1923, were estimated to cost $12 million. That would have been $3 million less than replacement, and there would have been no place to educate students during a renovation project.
