JENNIFER HAAR

Woodmore High School

Jennifer Haar is an excellent teacher who maximizes her resources as a science teacher at Woodmore High School.

Her students are actively engaged in learning, and she has inspired them to maximize their potential as learners. She has given her time and energy into making Woodmore an excellent school. Her actions as a teacher and a community member in the district make her very deserving of being called Teacher of the Month.

Mrs. Haar is actively involved in serving on several committees that better serve the school and the community. She is actively involved in fund-raising events and attends school events on a regular basis.

"Classroom teachers give young people what they sometimes get nowhere else in society -- a sense that they have promise, that they have talents, and that they are special," said Shane Dyer, assistant principal. "If you're a young person who is not quite sure that you are welcome in this society, one of the most important people in your life could be a teacher who accepts you."

Mrs. Haar has a master's degree in education from the University of Toledo.
