Teacher of the month: Barbara Johnson

Barb Johnson is the epitome of professionalism and fun. After 35 years of teaching, she is just as passionate as she was at the start of her career. As an English teacher, she maintains high standards. As a yearbook/newspaper adviser, she is creative and open to student suggestions. These qualities make her one of Rogers High School's most valuable teachers.

She has won numerous awards for the newspaper, against schools with many more resources. She was chosen most inspirational teacher for many years by valedictorians and salutatorians. Barb has been a TRACS teacher eight years and worked with a committee for curriculum alignment for both state standards and common core curriculum.

"Barb Johnson is one of the best educators I have had the opportunity to work with," said Kelly Welch, principal. "She is completely dedicated to her students and maintains high expectations for all."
