Oregon school board hears concerns from residents

With the open hostility that pervaded past school board meetings absent, about 65 people attended a community forum this evening in Oregon City Schools.

School officials said they wanted to hear from residents following a survey taken in November that showed some were frustrated by the schools.

Concerns ranged from the quality of education to school cuts to administrative salaries.

In the meeting at Clay High School's auditorium, some residents questioned why Oregon schools weren't ranked as high as other suburban schools.

Another parent praised the district for making changes to go after an excellent rating.
