The Sylvania Board of Education Thursday unanimously approved a new electronic devices policy for high school students.
Starting this fall, high school students will be able to use electronic devices "before/after school, during class changes, lunch, study halls, in class when educationally appropriate and with teacher approval," said Superintendent Brad Rieger. The policy includes electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops, iPads, iPods and e-readers, such as Kindles and Nooks.
Previously, students could carry such devices on school property, provided they were turned off.
