Springfield district shuffles jobs of 3 administrators
7/24/2012Springfield Local Schools will shuffle three administrators before the start of the school year in anticipation of Assistant Superintendent Todd Cramer's departure for a job with Bowling Green City Schools.
To fill Mr. Cramer's position, the district named Matt Geha its federal program director.
Mr. Geha, Springfield Middle School principal for eight years, will be paid the same annual salary of $101,554.
His job will be to oversee federal programs, including special education, as well as the district's support staff of speech therapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, crisis team employees, and others.
Dana Falkenberg, who previously used her maiden name of Damman, will be shifted from her job as Dorr Elementary School principal to Mr. Geha's former job at the middle school.
She had been Dorr's principal for two years, a job for which she was paid $87,642 on her 205-day contract.
As the middle school principal, she will be paid $94,784 and will have a 214-day contract.
Cheri Copeland-Shull will take over as Dorr principal.
She was most recently a part-time special education coordinator, although for several years she had been the Crissey Elementary School principal, Superintendent Kathryn Hott said.
She will be paid $95,768 annually, the same amount she received as Crissey principal.
"We have a phenomenal administrative team. We're very fortune these talented people have accepted this shifting around," Ms. Hott said, stressing that the moves were voluntary.
"We try to use our internal people and give them different opportunities ... to grow."
The new contracts start Aug. 9, except for Mr. Geha's job, which is to begin Aug. 1.
