Rossford school board sets pay for substitutes

Substitute teachers in the Rossford schools will be paid $90 a day under action taken by the Board of Education last week.

The board also agreed to pay the Ohio School Boards Association $1,000 for a customized workshop to be held on Tuesday and up to $6,000 to the Community Learning Center of Rossford, a provider of educational support services, for intervention services at Glenwood Elementary School for the 2012-13 school year.

The board also entered into an agreement with Ohio SchoolComp for workers' compensation and unemployment compensation claims management services for an annual fee of $3,605. It approved paying the Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West for the hearing-impaired services of specialist Cindy Brossia for the coming school year. The cost is $25,096.

The board also approved an agreement with the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center/Juvenile Residential Center of Northwest Ohio for an education-option program for the school year.

The cost of the program to the district is $60 per student per day for students assigned to the detention center and $50 per student per day for students assigned to the residential center.
