Monroe community college appoints 3 officials

    MONROE -- Monroe County Community College has named two deans and a coordinator of grants and major gifts.

    Paul Hedeen is the dean of humanities and social sciences, and Kimberly Lindquist is the dean of health sciences and director of nursing. The salary for each is $92,769.

    Mr. Hedeen is from Wartburg College, where he was chairman of English and modern languages. As the recipient of a Fulbright grant, he lectured in Ukraine. He has written two books, co-edited two more, and received teaching awards and fellowships. He received a PhD in English from Northwestern University.

    Ms. Lindquist joined MCCC in 2011 as a full-time member of the nursing faculty. Before that she taught medical-surgical courses at Henry Ford Community College, where she was a tenured faculty member. She also taught leadership management and was on the nursing evaluation committee. She is a graduate of MCCC and holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Eastern Michigan University and a master's degree from the University of Toledo.

    Eric Slough is coordinator of grants and major gifts. Before joining MCCC, he was executive director of the Make-A-wish Foundation, northwest Ohio region, and before that worked in fund-raising and alumni relations at the University of Toledo. He holds a bachelor's degree in communications and a master's in higher education administration from UT. He is paid $52,603.
