The Springfield High School Thespian Troupe will offer its annual Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat community service project on Wednesday. Springfield High School thespians will be in costumes to collect nonperishable food from families throughout the Holland/Springfield community.

Those areas include the subdivisions of Apple Blossom, Carmella Gardens, Deerfield Forest, Fox Run, Hidden Forest, Hidden Harbour, Hidden Springs, Inglewood, Lincoln Green, Sawmill Run, Shadow Valley Estates, Springfield Hills, Stone Oak, Stone Ridge FarmsValley Stream, Wexford, Whisperwood, Windmill Crossing, and Woodside Terrace.

The project is done in conjunction with the Holland Post of the American Legion.

Legionnaires distribute the food to needy families in our community through their food pantry.

Families can also donate items directly to the American Legion, Holland Post 646 at 1047 Clarion, Holland, between 6 and 8:30 p.m. that day.

The thespian society is an organization honoring excellence in theatre. Every year, troupes around the world join together to collect food for families in need, said Kristina White, community liaison for Springfield Local Schools.
