Fostoria principal to be next superintendent

FOSTORIA — A Fostoria school principal has been hired as the district’s superintendent.

Andrew Sprang, an intermediate elementary principal, will take the place of Steve Pritts, who is retiring Dec. 31. The school board approved a contract with Mr. Sprang that runs through July 31, 2015. He is to be paid $92,000 a year.

The board also hired Norman Elchert, Lakota elementary and middle school principal, as its treasurer effective Dec. 3. He replaces Jamie Pearson, who resigned in July. Pamela Barber has been working as interim treasurer. Mr. Elchert is to be paid $74,420 a year.
