Increased security in place at Monroe Public Schools buildings

Security at Monroe Public Schools has been increased in response to the school shootings in Newtown, Conn., Superintendent Randy Monday reports.

To be admitted to a building, visitors must have photo IDs and should be prepared for delays. All classroom doors are locked while classes are in session. A uniformed guard is to be at the main entrance of every school building starting in January.
