In addition to his responsibilities are department chair, Greg serves or has served on a variety of teacher committees including National Honor Society Faculty Council, technology and social. From 2004-2008, he co-directed the Greater Toledo Council of Teachers of Mathematics math contest for Northwest Ohio. His work with student extracurricular activities has been equally varied and steadfast. He has served as Fellowship of Christian Athlete’s advisor, Math Club advisor, talent show advisor, and assistant tennis and golf coach.
“Mr. Christy has been chosen by one of his students as recipient of the I Make a Different Award in 2006 and 2009, was Educator of the Year nominee in 2002 and 2007, was recognized as Outstanding Senior majoring in mathematics in 2000 by the University of Findlay, and has served as GTCTM board member and contest director from 2004-2008.
“Mr. Christy never seems to have a bad day,” said Kasey Vens, Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction. “His upbeat attitude is infectious among both the students he instructs and mentors daily and his fellow faculty members.”
