Winterfest at Monroe High to feature 5 days of fun

1/14/2013

Monroe High School celebrates Winterfest this week with five days of events that include a talent show, basketball games, and funny clothing.

Today is Scrubs/Pajama Day, when students are encouraged to wear sweatsuits or footie pajamas.

Tuesday is America Day: students are supposed to don patriotic attire.

Wednesday marks Mix and Don't Match Day. As the title suggests, the day calls for students to wear clothes that don’t match and maybe even a wig or two found while rummaging through closets. Also on this day, the school day throughout the district ends an hour early.

Thursday is Ugly Sweater Day. Students are supposed to wear the most unsightly sweaters they can find. The sweaters can be from any holiday but must be ugly. In the evening, students and faculty will entertain at a 7 p.m. talent show.

Friday is deemed Obnoxious Spirit Day because students are to dress in as much of their Trojan wear as they possibly can get on their bodies. The idea is to be as assertively and extravagantly proud of Monroe High School as possible before the varsity basketball games that day against Bedford High School.

The girls play at 5:30 p.m. and the boys at 7 p.m. at Monroe.
