The Ohio Auditor’s Office will release its final report of its statewide audit into possible manipulation of school attendance data Feb. 11.

The report will be the culmination of a six-month investigation into reports that some schools improperly withdrew and re-enrolled truant students, which could manipulate attendance and test score data.

The inquiry began after revelations of the practice, called “scrubbing,” in Columbus City Schools. Toledo Public Schools officials later admitted similar practices, and the Ohio Department of Education cited Lockland City Schools for what it considered improper scrubbing. Auditor Dave Yost in July started a statewide investigation.
