The dedication Todd Schreiber has brought to the vocal music program at Whiteford over the past 25 years is remarkable and his students’ development from their initial exposure to vocal music in kindergarten through graduation is amazing. Although Whiteford is small in numbers in terms of student population, his choirs and soloists traditionally score well at local and state festivals, proving to be a testament to his commitment to his students and their vocal music education.

Mr. Schreiber was chosen 2013 Teacher of the year by the Michigan School Vocal Music Association. He is often an accompanist for workshops, conferences, and honors choirs in the state. In 2010, he directed the 7-8-9 SSA State Honors Choir. He is a member of the Canterbury Singers USA with which he has sung several choral residencies at cathedrals in England, including St. Paul’s York Minster, Salisbury Canterbury, Durham and Ely. His book, Olympic Games for the Music Classroom, was published in 2008 by Shawnee Press.

“Todd truly exemplifies what it means to be an educator,” Superintendent Larry Shilling said. “He has provided his students with the basis for a lifetime appreciation of the arts.”
