FREMONT — Terra State Community College will spend about $2.5 million to transform a former Early Learning Center into a conference center.

The board of trustees on Wednesday accepted a $1.9 million bid from KF Construction and Excavating in Clyde to act as general contractor to renovate the building that housed a preschool. The total project, including a commercial kitchen and furniture, is estimated to cost $2.5 million and will be paid for through bonds and college funding.

Construction will begin in March, with a November completion date.
