BOWLING GREEN — Construction of a new crime investigation lab in northwest Ohio is expected to begin this summer on the campus of Bowling Green State University.

The state Bureau of Criminal Investigation lab could be ready by fall 2014. It will replace another regional crime lab.

Attorney General Mike DeWine says the campus location will allow a partnership with the school to advance forensic sciences in Ohio.

University president Mary Ellen Mazey says the school is exploring ways to work with the lab and enhance the school's sciences and criminal justices studies.
