5 Monroe High students advance to national competition

Five Monroe High School students have qualified to participate in the Health Occupations Students of America national competition in Nashville in June because of their strong performances in the Michigan meet this month.

They are Chelsea Schaff and Sydnee Begley, who earned a gold medal in forensic medicine as a team; Ryan Gentil, who earned a gold in pharmacology; Alexis Wood, who earned a bronze in medical reading, and Bailey Bergquist, who earned a bronze in medical law and ethics.
