FINDLAY — The University of Findlay has named a vice president for academic affairs.

Darin Fields, the vice president for academic affairs, faculty dean, and English professor at West Virginia’s Bethany College, will take over the Findlay position in July. He replaces Daniel May, who left this month for a job as University of New Haven provost.

Mr. Fields has a doctorate in early American literature and a master’s degree in English from the University of Delaware. He earned his bachelor’s in English from the University of Arizona. A spokesman for Findlay, a private university, declined to release salary details.
