Field narrowed to 3 for Oregon superintendent job
6/14/2013The Oregon City Schools Board of Education has winnowed its field of applicants for the superintendent's job to three, all of whom are from Ohio districts.
They are: Lonny Rivera, principal of Wayne Trail Elementary School in Maumee; Deborah Piotrowski, superintendent of the Xenia Community Schools, and Michael Sander, superintendent of the Clinton-Massie Local School District.
School board President P.J. Kapfhammer said he hopes to schedule interviews for Monday, "and go from there."
Nine applicants applied for the superintendent's position, which is being vacated by Michael Zalar, who is leaving to become superintendent of the North Olmsted City Schools in the Cleveland area. He has been Oregon's superintendent for five years and was principal at Clay High School from 2002 to 2008.
