MONROE — The Monroe County Intermediate School District will hold an open house from 5 to 6 p.m. June 27 for the Monroe County Head Start program.

The event will be held at the district’s Professional Development center, 1101 S. Raisinville Rd. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced in April that the district had been preliminarily selected to take over the county’s Head Start, which serves about 350 children ages 3 to 5 years old from low-income families.

Health and Human Services had contracted with a Denver firm in January, 2012, for the county’s Head Start program after previous operator Catholic Charities of Monroe relinquished control.
