The Board of Education has approved placing a $32.2 million bond issue on the November ballot to finance the first phase of a $76 million building upgrade.

The first phase, if voters approve the new 4.6-mill tax, would include the rebuilding of Eagle Point and Indian Hills elementaries and the demolition of Glenwood Elementary. A later plan would upgrade the junior high and high schools. If the phase 1 levy request is approved, work would begin next year and take about 18 months.

At its regular meeting last week, the board also approved a $6,000 contract with the Community Learning Center of Rossford for intervention services at Glenwood Elementary for the 2013-14 year.
