BLADE STAFF

Monroe High School will hold its first Monroe Pride Night on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. on the high school grounds.

Family-oriented activities, including games and food, are planned. Friendly Ford/Lincoln of Monroe will donate $20 to the high school for every participant who test-drives a car that night. The school will use the money to buy books as part of a reading initiative planned for October.

Door prizes will be offered; those who donate new books or magazines will get extra chances to win.
