Siena Heights opening theater season with ‘Rent’

Siena Heights University’s Theatre Siena will open its 2013-14 season with the musical Rent from Oct. 3-5 in the Francoeur Theater. Curtain is 8 p.m. nightly. Tickets are $12 for general admission and $8 for senior citizens and students.

The musical, set in New York, won the Tony Award for Best Musical and Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It is loosely based on Puccini’s La Boheme, and follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians.
