Ohio University was been named one of the “Top Producers of U.S. Fulbright Scholars by Type of Institution in 2013-14” in the November issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education. With five Fulbright recipients this year, OU is ranked alongside research institutions such as Boston University, Texas Tech University and New York University.

The U.S. Student Fulbright Scholarship Program provides grant funding for graduate students to study abroad and conduct research, teach English as a foreign language, or further creative and performing arts training.

OU’s 2013-14 Fulbright Scholars are:

• Ashley Enyeart, English and German major — will teach English in German secondary schools.

• Matt Kessler, a master’s student awarded the first Thailand Fulbright — will teach English.

• Eden Kinkaid — will conduct research in India about the Indian seed-saving movement to aid local farmers

• Alex Lilly, an English major — will teach English in Malaysia.

• Chelsea Patton, German and creative writing major — will teach in German secondary schools.

“Ohio University is committed to the development of global citizens and our students’ success in the Fulbright Program is a testament to that commitment,” said OU President Roderick McDavis. “Our dedicated faculty and staff work tirelessly to broaden our students’ horizons through international opportunities.”
